The Priory is open daily and has been a place of pilgrimage for over 800 years. A sacred place that energises and shapes religious meaning. Cartmel Priory was an Augustinian Priory founded on the rule of St Augustine. Monks would pray without ceasing.

The Priory Church is a place of prayer and worship today echoing the words of St Augustine.
